Palette ("the App") is developed and operated by Ariella App Labs ("we", "us", or "our"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our color palette generation application.
By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
Account Information: When you choose to create an account, we collect:
Purchase & Subscription Information: When you subscribe or make a purchase, Apple and our payment processor (RevenueCat) collect transaction data. We receive only a record of your purchase or subscription status to unlock premium features. We do not store payment details such as credit card numbers. Subscription management (renewal, cancellation) is handled entirely by Apple.
Usage Analytics: We use Firebase Analytics to collect usage data to help us improve the App. This includes:
When you are signed in, a Firebase User ID is explicitly associated with your analytics session, linking your usage events (palette generation, exports, paywall views, etc.) to your account identity. This helps us understand how real users engage with the App over time. When you are not signed in or use the App as a guest, no user ID is set and all analytics data is fully anonymous. Analytics data is never used for advertising or shared with third parties for marketing.
Crash Reports & Diagnostics: We use Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash reports and diagnostic data when the App encounters an error. This includes device model, iOS version, app version, and error stack traces. No personally identifiable information is intentionally included in crash reports. This data is used solely to identify and fix bugs. Crashlytics data collection is controlled by the same "Anonymous analytics" toggle in Settings that controls Firebase Analytics โ disabling that toggle stops both immediately.
Brand Audit Data: When you use the Brand Audit feature to analyze a website's color palette, you enter a URL into the App. The website content (colors, typography, accessibility data) is processed locally on your device via an in-app browser; no page content, images, or personal data from the audited site is transmitted to our servers. The hostname only (e.g. "example.com" โ not the full URL or any path) is logged as a Firebase Analytics event parameter to help us understand feature usage. Brand Audit hostname logging is gated by the same "Anonymous analytics" toggle.
Palette is designed with privacy as a core principle:
We use the information we collect solely for:
Most of your data is stored locally on your device:
This data remains on your device only. We do not sync or backup your palettes to any cloud server. If you uninstall the App, your local data will be lost.
The App may request access to your photo library for the color extraction feature. This access is used exclusively to:
Important: All photo processing occurs locally on your device. We do not upload, store, transmit, or have access to your photos on any server.
We use the following third-party services to operate the App:
These services operate under their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to review.
We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary:
When you delete your account, we immediately delete your personal data from our systems. Your Firebase authentication record is deleted instantly, and all local app data is cleared from your device. In rare cases where immediate deletion fails due to technical issues, deletion will be completed within 30 days.
Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own, including the United States, where our third-party service providers (Firebase, RevenueCat) maintain servers.
These transfers are necessary to provide our services and are conducted in compliance with applicable data protection laws.
