Introduction

Palette - Color Designer ("the App") is developed and operated by Ariella App Labs ("we", "us", or "our"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our color palette generation application.

By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

Information We Collect

Account Information: When you choose to create an account, we collect:

• Email address (for account identification and communication)
• Display name (optional, for personalization)
• Authentication provider identifier (Apple, Google, or Email sign-in)
• Account creation date

Purchase & Subscription Information: When you subscribe or make a purchase, Apple and our payment processor (RevenueCat) collect transaction data. We receive only a record of your purchase or subscription status to unlock premium features. We do not store payment details such as credit card numbers. Subscription management (renewal, cancellation) is handled entirely by Apple.

Usage Analytics: We use Firebase Analytics to collect usage data to help us improve the App. This includes:

• Screen views (which screens you visit within the App)
• Feature usage events (e.g., palette generation, exports, color copying)
• Monetization events (e.g., paywall views, trial starts, purchases)
• App engagement properties (e.g., subscription status, engagement level, days since install)

If you are signed in, analytics data may be linked to your account to help us understand usage patterns. If you are not signed in, this data is anonymous. Analytics data is never used for advertising or shared with third parties for marketing.

Information We DON'T Collect

Palette is designed with privacy as a core principle:

• We do NOT use cookies or similar tracking technologies
• We do NOT sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for advertising or marketing
• We do NOT access your photo library beyond the specific images you select for color extraction
• We do NOT collect location data
• We do NOT create advertising profiles

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect solely for:

• Providing and maintaining your account
• Enabling account-based features and preferences
• Analyzing anonymous usage patterns to improve the App
• Processing and managing your in-app purchases
• Responding to your support requests
• Sending important service-related communications

Local Data Storage

Most of your data is stored locally on your device:

• Color palettes you create and save
• Your favorite palettes
• App preferences and settings
• Palette generation history

This data remains on your device only. We do not sync or backup your palettes to any cloud server. If you uninstall the App, your local data will be lost.

Photos Access

The App may request access to your photo library for the color extraction feature. This access is used exclusively to:

• Allow you to select photos for color extraction
• Extract dominant colors from your selected photos

Important: All photo processing occurs locally on your device. We do not upload, store, transmit, or have access to your photos on any server.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate the App:

• Firebase Authentication (Google): To securely manage user accounts and sign-in. Firebase Privacy Policy
• Firebase Analytics (Google): To collect anonymous, aggregated usage data to improve the App experience. No personally identifiable information is collected. Firebase Privacy Policy
• RevenueCat: To process in-app purchases and manage subscription entitlements. RevenueCat may collect anonymous, aggregated purchase data. RevenueCat Privacy Policy
• Apple Sign-In: To enable secure authentication via Apple ID. Apple Privacy Policy
• Google Sign-In: To enable authentication via Google accounts. Google Privacy Policy

These services operate under their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to review.

Data Retention

We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary:

• Account data: Retained until you delete your account
• Local data: Retained on your device until you delete it or uninstall the App
• Purchase records: Retained as required for legal and accounting purposes

When you delete your account, we immediately delete your personal data from our systems. Your Firebase authentication record is deleted instantly, and all local app data is cleared from your device. In rare cases where immediate deletion fails due to technical issues, deletion will be completed within 30 days.

International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own, including the United States, where our third-party service providers (Firebase, RevenueCat) maintain servers.

These transfers are necessary to provide our services and are conducted in compliance with applicable data protection laws.

Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Rectification: Request correction of inaccurate personal data
• Erasure: Request deletion of your personal data
• Portability: Request your data in a portable format
• Objection: Object to certain processing of your data
• Withdraw Consent: Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent

Your Choices

You have control over your data:

• Delete all saved palettes at any time within the App
• Clear your palette history from the Profile tab
• Delete your account and all associated data from the Profile tab
• Uninstall the App to remove all local data
• Revoke photo library access in iOS Settings > Privacy > Photos
• Use the App without creating an account (limited features)

For Users in the European Economic Area (EEA)

If you are in the EEA, you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

• We process your data based on: (a) your consent, (b) performance of our contract with you, or (c) our legitimate interests
• You may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority
• You may request restriction of processing in certain circumstances

For Users in California (USA)

California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):

• Right to Know: What personal information we collect and how we use it
• Right to Delete: Request deletion of your personal information
• Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights

We do NOT sell personal information to third parties.

Children's Privacy

Palette is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at labsariella@gmail.com, and we will delete such information.

Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data:

• Local data is protected by iOS device encryption
• Authentication uses industry-standard OAuth 2.0 protocols
• All network communications use HTTPS/TLS encryption
• We limit access to personal data to those who need it

While we strive to protect your data, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by:

• Posting the new Privacy Policy on this page
• Updating the "Last updated" date
• Sending an in-app notification for significant changes
